What's not to love about a refrigerator and freezer? It's the place to stash leftovers foods such pizza,ice cream and a few to mention. But a few food might disagree with you, and we have got the wasted groceries to prove it. We want to skip frustration( and the unwelcome fridge surprises)? Read on to know when to skip the cool down and stick with counter and pantry.
Below are the foods we recommend not to put them inside your refigerator;
• Banana
Bananas need room temperature for two reasons: The warm temperature help the the fruit ripening and the light and air slow down decay.
•Oil
Much like honey, vegetable, coconut, olive and other cooking oils will quick solidify in the fridge. Keep them on a cool dark shelfin the pantry instead.
• Tomatoes
The countertop, not the fridge, is the best spot for tomatoes. The cold temperature in a fridge mess with the deliciousness of their texture.
• Onion
Unless cut up, onion should go in the pantry. But never store them in the fridge.
• Coffee
Stored in the fridge, the coffee is more likely to pick up other flavors around it. Instead keep it in a sealed container in the pantry away from sunlight.
• Avocado
Super- unripe avocados have a hard time finishing the ripening process in the fridge. Instead, leave them on the countertop.
• Honey
Keeping honey in the fridge makes it unpalatable. Instead, keep it in it's original container in a cool, dark pantry spot.
